Mill River Band: Deep Musicians with a Cool Sound
"The thing about
the Mill River group that you may not even notice as your toe is tapping
rhythmically and you’re suddenly feeling a whole lot better than you
have in a while, is the ease and expertise of their manner. These are deep
and long-time musicians who can adjust the balance with a silent nod in
the middle of a piece, who ebb and flow with leads and backups and who add
grace notes and flourishes that make their music, well, delightful."
Dan England, FAIRFIELD MINUTEMAN, 1/15/2005
Homey Band of Locals
"Discriminating music fans eager to experience a unique blend of
acoustic rock, country blues and western swing... This eclectic
group, performing on guitar, fiddle, mandolin and percussion and singing
three-part harmony, has been known to expand its sixty-song repertoire and
cater to patrons with an appetite for the Grateful Dead or the
Beatles."
Roseann Spengler, WESTPORT MAGAZINE / MOFFLY PUBLICATIONS, 1/5/2005
the Band: Mill River Residents Show It’s Never Too Late
"Sixty songs currently exist in the band’s repertoire, and the
group continues to explore new arrangements and sounds such as country
swing or blues or classic numbers, the Beatles, Hank Williams, or the
Grateful Dead. There’s even some good old Americana music.
